A versatile performer, educator and creative practitioner.

Jemma Andrews is a versatile trumpeter, educator and creative practitioner based in Essex, with a varied career spanning orchestral performance, touring, education and collaborative projects.

She began playing the cornet at an early age and went on to study at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Richard Jones. She later continued her training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance before graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a BMus (Hons), where she studied with Paul Mayes, Stephen Keavy, Paul Cosh and Noel Langley.

Jemma has performed as principal trumpet with the London Film Music Orchestra, touring across the UK and Europe and appearing at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral and major concert halls in Norway and the Netherlands. She has also performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Docklands Sinfonia, with appearances at Buckingham Palace, the Barbican and the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios.

A highlight of her early career includes performing on principal cornet with the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain at the BBC Proms. She continues to enjoy a diverse freelance career spanning symphony orchestras, brass bands, jazz ensembles, big bands and musical theatre, and is equally at home in both classical and contemporary settings.

Alongside her performing work, Jemma is a passionate advocate for collaborative and inclusive music-making. She is a long-standing guest artist and soloist with The Music Man Project, performing at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the London Palladium and the Royal College of Music, and contributing to large-scale, high-profile projects.

As an educator, Jemma teaches trumpet, singing, theory and aural skills both privately and in schools. Her work is known for its clarity, creativity and supportive approach, with a strong emphasis on confidence, musicality and a genuine enjoyment of music.

She is also the founder of a specialist trumpet project, delivering workshops and masterclasses that give young players a deeper understanding of performance and musicianship in an engaging and inspiring environment. Alongside her musical work, Jemma also has experience in event planning and project management, and holds additional qualifications in autism awareness, ADHD awareness and supporting behaviour that challenges.
